AAFS Comments Regarding Draft Outline of Forensic Reform Legislation

On June 14, 2010, the AAFS Board of Directors (BOD) approved and submitted the linked correspondence below related to the “Preliminary Outline of Draft Forensic Reform Legislation – 5/5/10.”  Our correspondence summarizes many of the comments we received from our membership and reflects the compiled views of a majority of the Board.  In return correspondence, the AAFS has been assured by Senator Leahy’s staff that they “will carefully consider these comments as [they] move forward in this process.”

The BOD appreciates the comments and involvement from the membership in this process.  We will continue to provide updates as they become available, and we will seek additional comments related to future correspondence received from Congress.

Thanks to all members of the Academy for your participation in this process.
