Forensic Chemists

L-3/MPRI is currently looking for Forensic Chemists in support of the Department of Defense forensic science efforts. The incumbent must be willing to work in a technical laboratory environment on a US military base in Afghanistan.  The optimum candidate will be flexible and adaptable.

Technical responsibilities include performing chemical analysis and identification of explosives and trace samples; performing explosive and/or drug analysis using ion analysis or GC/MS, FTIR spectrometry; interpretation of mass spectra; L-3/MPRI is also looking for Forensic Drug Chemist and Latent print examiners, additional duties to include preparing forensic reports; providing instruction and tours; and other duties as required. During time of deployment, post differential and Hazard pay will be authorized. Food and lodging will be provided.

Qualifications: 

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree coupled with 4 years of related experience; An Associate's degree coupled with 6 years of related experience; or a high school diploma coupled with 8 years of related experience.  Degree should be from an accredited college or university with a major in a Natural Science, Criminalistics, Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry or a closely related field; including a minimum of 24 semester hours of chemistry or analytical chemistry (graduate or undergraduate college level).  Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. - Willing to deploy overseas for 3 to 6 month rotational intervals for a total of 1 year.
