The Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position to begin in the 2012-2013 academic year; salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology offers a B.A. in Criminal Justice, a B.A. in Criminology and a B.A. in Forensic Science. The department is committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology or a related field with a Forensic Science concentration. Experience in forensic science is essential. Faculty is expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly research and involvement in university and/or community activities. The ideal candidate will be a generalist with the ability to teach a range of courses including, but not limited to: crime scene investigation, forensic criminology, forensic victimology, sex crimes, violent crimes, forensic lab techniques and statistics. A typical teaching load for the Assistant Professor of Forensic Science may include four courses per fall and spring semesters. Duties will include serving as academic advisor for the forensic science majors and administering the forensic science internship course.
