MEDICAL-LEGAL INVESTIGATOR SUPERVISOR

Broward County Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services is seeking a candidate highly skilled in the areas of medical legal death investigation including death scene examination, forensic evidence identification and collection, indigent and unidentified decedent programs, mass disaster and emergency response and policy creation and adherence with extensive experience in supervisory aspects of the aforementioned functions.  Position is responsible for supervison of six medical legal investigators, transport service of deceased and cremation service contracts as well as other associated responsibilities.

Qualifications: 

Requires Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in medical technology, biology, criminology, law, or other field closely related to this assignment; and four (4) years experience in criminal investigation including two (2) years experience in the use of medical terminology and two (2) years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. 

 Experience in death investigation and possession of American Board of Medical Legal Death Investigation board certification is preferred.  All education, experience and certifications must be documented to be credited.  Please provide telephone number on resume.

Position involves field work and driving is required.   Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.   Must be able to drive, and obtain and maintain authority to drive on County business throughout employment.
