The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is seeking one full-time forensic pathologist in our Eastern Division Tulsa office. The successful candidates will join board certified forensic pathologists who administer services to the citizens of Oklahoma through the Central Division Oklahoma City office and Eastern Division Tulsa office.

 

Our office assumes jurisdiction over 13,000 deaths per year.  We perform approximately 1700 – 1900 autopsies per year.  We have in-house toxicology, histology, and x-ray services as well as access to forensic anthropologists and forensic dentists. Death investigators provide 24/7 statewide scene investigation.  All autopsy cases are performed within the two offices with full support services. There are currently four forensic pathologist in the Oklahoma City office and two forensic pathologists in the Tulsa office performing a statewide average of 1500-1800 autopsies a year.

Qualifications: 

The applicant should be either Board certified (AP/CP/FP – AP/FP) or Board eligible. A Board eligible candidate will be expected to become Board certified within two years of employment.  Applicant must be able to attain an Oklahoma medical license.
