BAE Systems’ Joint Expeditionary Forensics Facilities (JEFF) Program is aggressively searching for talented professionals with experience as DNA Technicians and/or Serologists who wish to be a part of a dynamic team to work in deployed forensic laboratories in Afghanistan. Technicians will be responsible for examining and screening evidence to include serological testing, analyzing and interpreting results, collecting and properly retaining samplings deemed probative for DNA testing, reporting conclusions, compiling case files, preparing reagents, maintaining instrumentation, and other duties as assigned.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience processing reference samples from known individuals. Individuals must be able to prioritize and execute on multiple requests and taskings in order to handle a very high volume of work.  In addition to the technical skills above, additional attributes are a must.  The characteristics most highly regarded are innovativeness, self-motivation, professionalism, and flexibility suitable for an expeditionary environment.


During time of deployment, substantial amounts of additional compensation will be added to base salary. Housing and food are provided.  BAE Systems offers competitive salary and benefits.  Please inquire for additional details. 

Qualifications: 

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a forensic science related area and completed course work covering the subject areas of: biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, statistics and/or population genetics coupled with 6 months of related experience as a Serologist in a forensic laboratory and experience performing and utilizing a range of presumptive and confirmatory serological exams for testing of biological fluids.

- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the forensic science discipline.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Willingness to deploy overseas for 3 to 6 month rotational intervals for a total of at least 1 year.
- Meet contractual requirements associated with the minimum standards of fitness for deployment.
