Sorenson Genomics, a leader in DNA testing, is seeking a Laboratory Manager to manage daily functions, ensure processes and review data quality for our relationship testing lab.

 

Duties for this position include but are not limited to the review of relationship testing casework and associated genetic data, directing the laboratory regarding data quality concerns and improvements, consulting with clients regarding case results and interpretation, managing laboratory staff and working closely with all areas of the casework. LEAN Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience and/or certification a plus. The successful candidate will be proficient in basic statistical methods and computer-based technologies and will have a firm understanding of the underlying principles of human genetics and molecular biological methods.  We offer a full benefits package including Health, Dental, Life, Disability and 401(k).

Qualifications: 

Minimum Requirements:

B.S. in a relevant biological science.

Five years experience in an accredited laboratory.

Ability to work as part of a high-functioning multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and multi-task well.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong initiative and demonstrated ability to take ownership of challenging problems.

Preferred:

 

M.S. or PhD in a relevant biological science.

Two years experience managing operations in a biologic laboratory.
Experience with GeneMapper or Genescan/Genotyper, Sequencer.

Experience with Applied Biosystems genetic analyzers.
Experience with other genomics tools and technologies.

Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems.

LEAN Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
