Arcadia University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Director and Assistant Professor of Forensic Science position beginning in the summer or fall of 2012.  Ranked among the top tier of comprehensive universities in the northern region of the United States, Arcadia University (www.arcadia.edu) is a coeducational institution located in suburban Philadelphia that offers undergraduate and graduate study to more than 3,500 students annually.  The Masters of Science in Forensic Science (MSFS) program is a multi-track, FEPAC accredited degree program that prepares students for careers in the forensic and laboratory sciences, and is one of the largest accredited programs in the country, with currently over 40 students.  The program partners with the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education at the Frederic Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation (www.frfoundation.org) and with NMS Labs (www.nmslabs.com), one of the nation's leading providers of forensic services, to give students a firsthand exposure to forensic science challenges and casework.  

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will teach required graduate courses in forensic science, as well as an upper-level course in either biology or chemistry.  Applicants are expected to engage undergraduate pre-forensic science and graduate students in research projects, so post-doctoral research experience is desired.  Candidates must have an earned doctorate in biology or chemistry, experience as a forensic scientist, leadership skills, and teaching experience at the university level.
