Forensic Scientist - DNA

The Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center is seeking applicants for the position of Forensic Scientist I or Forensic Scientist II for appointment in the Biology/DNA Section. Job duties include screening evidence for the presence of biological material, characterization of body fluids, DNA extraction, real-time PCR quantification, STR amplification, data interpretation, authoring reports, conducting peer reviews, execution of quality control tasks, and court testimony. 

Qualifications: 

Minimum educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic science related area.  Candidates must have completed coursework in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and statistics in accordance with criteria set forth by the FBI Quality Assurance Standards.
