Role & Responsibilities:

The role is full time and is an opportunity to join the equine testing team, working on doping control and animal welfare programs.  The successful candidate will be expected to work with non-hazardous biological samples.

  • Act as technical leader among equine testing team
  • Develop and evaluate new analytical methods
  • Operate and maintain LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation
  • Analyze and review data
  • Write, revise, and review standard operating procedures

Strict compliance with chain of custody procedures

Qualifications: 
Education: 

Essential:
B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline

Desirable:
M.S. degree in related discipline

Experience:

Core:
Minimum of 5 years relevant post-degree work experience

Specific experience with Thermo instrumentation and Xcalibur/LCQuan software

Familiarity with solid-phase and liquid-liquid extraction techniques and method development

Proven Leader:

Ideal:
10 years relevant post-degree work experience

Experience in equine drug testing

Worked in an ISO and/or GLP facility

Exposure to chain of custody procedures

Use of Agilent GC-MS instruments and software (Chemstation, MassHunter)

Use of AB Sciex instrumentation and Analyst software

Key Personal Qualities/Circumstances:

Reliable with a high degree of integrity

Flexible in terms of working structures, processes and hours

Available to work in Lexington, Kentucky

Available to start work as soon as possible
