The successful candidate must be able to develop, teach, team-teach and coordinate the graduate-level Forensic Science course offerings (toxicology/drug ID chemistry, forensic biology/DNA, trace/materials/microscopy, pattern evidence, courtroom testimony and electives). He/she will also be expected to maintain the program's FEPAC accreditation as well as maintain appropriate relationships with operational labs, espcially those in the Illinois State Police.
Research, especially that which is eternally funded, is encouraged, as are presentations and publication in peer-reviewed literature. Participation in professional activities (editorial boards, professional meetings, and professional organization involvement) is expected.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of the administration and operation of the forensic scence program, including student recruitment, admission, and monitoring of student progress. The position also coordinates comprehensive exams, tuition waivers, scholarships, fellowship and graduate assistant applications and selection.
