Forensic Technician

Performs clerical, technical and administrative support in specialized laboratory functions; enters required information into lab databases, completes regular inventories of media, chemicals, equipment and supplies; orders supplies and chemicals as needed, prepares chemical solutions and reagents for analyses, cleans lab equipment and areas utilizing appropriate sterilization and decontamination techniques; organizes, files, and maintains finger print, media, and evidence processing records;  fingerprints applicants, employees, etc, as needed, utilizing LIVESCAN and Inked media; learn procedures and techniques for applying chemicals and powders to develop and detect impression evidence; assists in laboratory preparation for accreditation. Exposure to chemicals and biohazards is inherent in a forensic laboratory.

Qualifications: 
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience in office clerical, personnel, payroll, accounting, or specialized administrative support related to forensics. 

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Salary/Other: 
$34,944.00 - $53,456.00 Annually
