Health Network Laboratories (HNL) is seeking a full time pathologist with board certification in AP or AP/CP and FP. We will consider board eligible candidates with the expectation that board certification will be achieved within one year of employment. The Forensic Pathology Section of HNL is located on the 800-bed main campus of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), the lab’s primary client. Four board certified forensic pathologists (2 part-time), plus three forensic autopsy assistants perform 900 complete autopsies per year. We work closely with the offices of more than 20 county coroners and their associated law enforcement officials, district attorneys and private attorneys. We see a wide assortment of forensic cases including homicides which comprise 10% of our case volume. LVHN has onsite neuropathology, microbiology, histology, radiology and odontology.
Health Network Laboratories is a multi-regional medical laboratory with technologically advanced facilities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We offer a full complement of clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services—including highly specialized esoteric testing—to hospitals, physicians, long-term and assisted living facilities, businesses and government agencies.
Our facility is located 90 minutes West of NYC and 60 minutes North of Philadelphia in an area known as the Lehigh Valley. The community offers beautiful suburban living with a metropolitan flair. Cultural activities, entertainment, sporting events and shopping venues provide a sophisticated social scene. In the region, there are excellent school systems, ten local colleges and universities and affordable real estate.
We offer a generous compensation package that includes health and malpractice insurance, paid vacation and sick time, pension options and more. This is a fantastic opportunity to practice the art of forensic pathology with enlightened coroners and without administrative headaches or other distractions. There are also opportunities to publish and conduct research.
