Crime Scene Investigator II

The Johnson County Crime Laboratory, a division of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, is seeking a qualified applicant for a position in our Crime Scene Unit.  The major duties of this position include, but are not limited to photography, documentation, collection, and preservation of physical evidence at crime scenes. Other duties may include crime scene reconstruction, bloodstain pattern analysis, latent print processing, chemical testing, preparing written technical reports, and providing effective expert testimony in courts of law.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in natural science is preferred. Applicants must have at least three years of experience in Crime Scene Investigations, successfully completed at least four courses in crime scene investigation, and be certified by a nationally recognized organization such as the IAI at the CSI level I and level II or its equivalent. The applicant will be required to successfully complete a Crime Scene Investigations training program and a qualifying test before beginning independent casework responsibilities.

$53,643.20 to $69,971.20 (Commensurate with experience)
