Mississippi State Crime Laboratory

Responsibilities include by are not limited to: Maintainging and updating the quality manual; Monitoring laboratory practices to verify continuing complicance with policies and procedures; evaluating instrument calibration and maintenance records; ensuring validation fo new technical procedures; investigating technical problems, proposes remedial action, and vertifies their implementation; selecting, training and evaluting internal auditors; monitoring courtroom testimony of laboratory staff; etc,

A Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of (30) hours of chemistry and a minimum of (9) years expereince in a laboratory environment, with at least (4) of those in a forensic environment; AND Certification by a recognized forensic certification program approved by the administration of the MS Crime Laboratory; OR A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of (30) hours of chemistry and a minimum of (10) years experience in a laboratory environment with at leat (4) of those years in a forensic laboratory environment; AND Certification by a recognized certification program approved by the administration of the MS Crime Lab.
