Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. A strong technical background is a must. An advanced graduate degree is preferred. Five or more years of related experience preferred. Fifteen or more years of related technical experience could substitute requirements for bachelor’s degree. Knowledge and Skills Required:

• This position requires familiarity with assessment practices, relevant legal regulations, accreditation procedures and accreditation requirements.

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as acting with respect and integrity.

• Must have an intricate level of understanding of the accreditation business, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, etc.

• Understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills.

• Demonstrated capacity for embracing change and learning new technologies.

• Proficiency with Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook required.

• Excellent organizational abilities. The ability to prioritize projects, handle a multitude of activities simultaneously, and pay thorough attention to detail is essential.

• Ability to manage the work under pressure.

Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require frequent weekend and evening work. Work may require frequent overnight travel. Behavior and Attitude: The vision and mission of the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board require the Accreditation Manager to perform in a professional and personable manner. The manner in which the employee relates to co-workers, customers, and visitors is as important as technical knowledge and ability. Basic Function: The Accreditation Manager must maintain an extensive and broad understanding of all facets of accreditation services. This person will assume operational responsibility for operations of the accreditation process in the Accreditation Manager’s respective area(s). A successful Accreditation Manager will possess the ability to make judgments about the accreditation system and the assessor approval system. Leadership skills must be top-notch, including excellent communication skills and motivational techniques, as well as acting with respect and dignity. Duties and Responsibilities: In charge of monitoring assessors and the accreditation process in their respective area(s). This includes but is not limited to recruitment and retention of key assessors, development of the company’s accreditation procedures, client servicing, and external marketing/reputation management.

• Identify and develop competent assessors and experts.

• Conduct assessments of customers to the accreditation requirements, as needed.

• Develop program specific documentation, including technical requirements.

• Maintain customer relations, which includes answering technical questions posed by customers.

• Provide ideas, rapidly and effectively implement new ACLASS processes and methodologies, including assessment practices and company-wide training.

• Ensure all assessments/projects are on strategy and capable of being executed, which includes:

o Assign Lead Assessor and form assessment team(s), if necessary, to assess customers’ scopes of accreditation.

o Work with the Assessment Coordinator(s) to ensure customer(s) and assessor(s) are scheduled.

o Ensure quality manual, uncertainty budgets, and other necessary information is received to perform the Document Review. Distribute all necessary information to the Lead Assessor for review.

o Ensure Lead Assessor is conducting assessments, including document reviews, in a timely manner.

o Ensure customer responses to assessment reports, including document reviews, are received in a timely manner.

o Compose technical review team(s) for review of accreditation assessment, surveillance and reassessment reports. Distribute assessment reports to the technical review team.

o Oversee the conversion of the labs’ draft scope into the final scope. The Program Manager will work with the technical review team and/or the Lead Assessor to develop the final product and ensure the accuracy of the ranges and BMCs.

o Review all final reports in concurrence with technical review teams to determine final recommendation on accreditation. Report final recommendation to Senior Accreditation Manager.

• Maintain and follow-up with customers’ corrective actions, including PT/ILC activity.

• Manage assigned customers on a day-to-day basis.

• Respond to customer inquiries, complaints and/or appeals.

• Assist in training and witnessing ACLASS assessors and experts.

• Provide all new ACLASS assessors with appropriate documents relating to their initial ACLASS training and ensure assessors meet ACLASS assessor training criteria.

• Assist Regional Bodies as an evaluator and/or membership within committees (IAAC, APLAC, ILAC), as assigned.

• Conduct Internal audits of the Company as assigned by the Senior Accreditation Manager, as needed.

• Travel to and attend industry related trade shows as well as participate on industry related technical committees, as assigned.

• Ensure excellent work on current business to garner new business within existing customers.

• Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time. Authorities: Reports directly to the Senior Accreditation Manager.
