FORENSIC ANTHROPOLOGY POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP - UNCLASSIFIED - 7422

PIMA COUNTY FORENSIC SCIENCE CENTER

Physical/Sensory Requirements:  Employees in this classification must be able to traverse rough terrain on foot to reach remote work-sites, and to operate in extremes of weather (exposure to sun, wind, heat/cold, etc.).

 This is an unclassified position, not subject to the Pima County Merit System Rules.

 Preferred Qualifications:

1.            Medical Examiner background/knowledge.

2.            Sensitive materials handling background/experience.

3.            Ability to withstand noxious odors, offensive sights and decomposed bodies.

4.            Ability to move and manipulate heavy objects – 100 plus pounds.

5.            Familiarity/experience with computerized data entry.

6.            Good knowledge of English language, spelling, grammar, both written and oral.

7.            Successfully complete a background investigation for the 3 year period prior to appointment.

8.            Experience with the legal environment, e.g., pretrial interviews, depositions, courtroom testimony

9.            NamUs and FORDISC literate

10.          Associate membership or membership status with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Physical Anthropology Section

11.          Previous employment or internship at the Pima County Forensic Science Center

Special Notice Items:  All positions require satisfactory completion of a background investigation by law enforcement agencies, due to need for access to sensitive, confidential, medical and like records and the handling of evidentiary materials. Department of Labor Regulation CFR Part 1910.1030 requires notification that positions in this classification may have a moderate risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other infectious or harmful diseases or bio-hazardous materials due to the need to handle and otherwise be exposed to evidentiary materials which may pose biological hazards. Any required immunizations, training and safety equipment will be provided. Employees may also encounter harmful plant materials, reptiles, or animals when working in the field.

 

An earned Doctorate from an accredited college or university in anthropology, with an emphasis in Physical Anthropology.

A current Arizona Class D driver's license is required at time of appointment.
