| Academic Press (AP), a Harcourt Science and
Technology Company, is pleased to announce sponsorship of the 2000 Young Forensic
Scientists Forum Essay Contest. The topic of the essay is "The Role of the Forensic
Scientist in the New Millennium." The winner will receive a set of APs
Encyclopedia of Forensic Sciences, a $925 value, presented by the Editor-in-Chief of the
work, Jay Siegel, at the Young Forensic Scientists Forum Breakfast Meeting at the American
Academy of Forensic Science (AAFS) Annual Meeting in Reno, Nevada, February, 2000.
Interested students are asked to apply the topic to their field of study within forensic science. The deadline for the contest is October 31, 1999. All entries must be postmarked by that date or they will not be accepted. Please send five copies of the essay and one copy of a CV or resume to: Ms. Carrie Weiler, King County Medical Examiners Office, 325 9th Avenue, Box 359792, Seattle, WA 98104 Essays must be limited to 2000 words, or two printed pages. Entrants
must be a graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a degree in forensic science or a
related field of study. Entrants must also be a student member or trainee affiliate member
of the AAFS. No less than three established members of the forensic science community and
the AAFS will serve as judges for the essay contest. |
