It's That Time Again
by Claire Shepard, MS

It is difficult to believe that it is already time to start preparing for the next AAFS meeting in Dallas. Every year the meeting creeps up faster and faster and there never seems to be enough time to incorporate everything into the meeting and its program. Over the past few years the YFSF has seen continued growth and interest at the AAFS meetings, on its website, and in email inquires. Due to the continued interest, it is the desire of the YFSF to continue to grow and thrive, so now is the time to create more positions for young forensic scientists and to ask for help. This will not only give people an opportunity to get involved with the planning of the session and ultimately with AAFS, it will also give them an opportunity to focus on a particular area of the YFSF Program.

Therefore, you will see more faces in Dallas, have more opportunities to get involved, and certainly the entire program will benefit from having more volunteers incorporating their ideas and assisting in the planning of the meeting. There are many new ideas for the meeting in Dallas and it will certainly be like no other meeting in the past. The YFSF is excited about the new program that hopes you all have a chance to experience it in Dallas. We are looking forward to seeing you in Dallas. Please contact the following individual committee members with specific questions: President: Amy Price; Secretary: Sheila Estacio; Program Chairperson: Claire Shepard; Academic Session Chairpersons: Allison Curran & Chris Gojcz; Breakfast Session Chairperson: Amy Neumann; BYOS Chairperson: Summer Decker.
