Young Forensic Scientists Forum Newsletter - November 2000 BYOS For Young Forensic Scientists |
| Here's your chance to share that compelling, out-of-the-ordinary, fascinating or just plain weird case you've worked on. The Young Forensic Scientists Forum (YFSF) would like to invite individuals to the Second Annual YFSF Bring Your Own Slides. The original Academy-wide Bring Your Own Slides presentations began long ago in a hotel room at an AAFS Annual Meeting. Now BYOS has become a huge annual event, and the YFSF joined in last year with its first presentations dedicated to new forensic scientists. This is your opportunity to share with your colleagues some fun cases and information that you've come across in your career. This includes cases you may have done while in school or on internships. Anything goes! The guidelines are similar to those for the Academy-wide BYOS: • BYOS is not intended as a forum to present scientific papers-- just the interesting, the fun, and /or the unusual, please. • Speakers should plan on having about 10 minutes of material. • Tables, charts, and graphs should be avoided...people like to see the fun stuff. • Please sign-up in advance at the email address below. • Walk-ins will be welcome. If you don't get a chance to sign-up before you leave for Seattle (and we HIGHLY recommend that you do), we'll do our best to fit you in. We have to limit the evening to no more than 1 1/2 hours. We're looking forward to a fun evening, and you can be a part of it. Look back through your work, and keep your eyes peeled during the next few months as well. See you in Seattle. To sign up please contact: Sheila Estacio via e-mail at virtutek1@yahoo.com.
