Young Forensic Scientists Forum Newsletter - November 2001 Editor's Notes |
| Recent events have refocused the United States in a very real way. I think I speak for all of us in the YFSF that our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone effected by this tragedy. Not only to the families and friends of the missing, but our hearts go out to all the thousands of volunteers and workers who have given their time and effort in the clean up, rescue, recovery, and investigation of these acts. In this issue of the newsletter, I have included an article from one of those individuals in forensic science directly effected by these events. As we gear up for the annual meeting in February, we will start to understand how these events have not only effected our society, but specifically the forensic community as well. I hope that you enjoy this issue and as always, if you have any feedback, comments, or personal glimpses that you feel would be of interest to others, I encourage you to submit your idea or article to aprice@dfs.state.va.us. CORRECTION: The name of the author of the AP Essay Contest winning paper published in the September 2001 issue of the YFSF Newsletter was incorrect. The author is Eric Stauffer. We apologize for any confusion. |
