Young Forensic Scientists Forum Newsletter - July 1999 Editor's Notes |
| Wow! That is what I have to say about this
issue. We have a lot packed in here so there should be something for everyone! The YFSF
has had a very busy spring. Our committees have been working hard to get projects started
and implemented. Our Special Projects Committee is working on a time capsule project that
should be unveiled in our next issue. This exciting endeavor will allow all of us young
forensic scientists to look back when we are the fellows and old timers in our fields!
The Awards Committee has been working on a Young Forensic Scientist Essay contest sponsored by Academic Press. See the article that follows for more information about the contest. Academy Programs is putting together next years activities which will include a YFSF Bring Your Own Slides program as well as the 3rd Annual Special Session and Breakfast Meeting. The Internship Committee is coming up with better ways for you to find that perfect position, and the Web Site Committee continues to update and improve the YFSF web site. As always, I am grateful to the committee members who have helped me with this newsletter. I would like to say a special thanks to Philip Feer of Bern, Switzerland, for writing about his work as an autopsy assistant there. The YFSF appreciates his efforts to share an international perspective on forensic science with us. Thanks are also deserved by all of the other authors who contributed to this issue. Once again, if you have ideas, suggestions or submissions for the YFSF Newsletter I would love to hear them. We also welcome feedback! If you have thoughts on something you have seen here, you can send them to me at cmweiler@eskimo.com. |
