Forensic Pathologist

Westchester County Department of Labs and Research, Valhalla, NY, US


Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Performs and/or supervises the performance of autopsies, gross and histological examinations of specimens, and evaluates all data and prepares reports of findings;
  • Prepares final reports of medical examiner's cases which include reports of investigations of death;
  • Performs statistical evaluations of medical data;
  • Gives expert testimony in courts of law;
  • May conduct conferences, seminars and lectures for lay and professional groups, including lectures at police academies and to detectives


  • Successful candidates will possess a license and current registration to practice medicine in NY State;
  • Graduation from an approved medical school;
  • Valid NY State Driver’s license;
  • Board certification, and one year beyond Fellowship as a practicing Medical Examiner


Salary range: $165,000-197,445/Annually
