Responsibilities

The CFSRE is seeking a Forensic Toxicologist to join our team of world-leading toxicologists and chemists. This position is unique because it combines aspects of academia, research, and casework to advance forensic toxicology and its related fields. The Forensic Toxicologist will work closely with CFSRE’s NPS Discovery program, assessing emerging drug threats and producing high-impact resources for public health and public safety use. The position may include work related to postmortem forensic toxicology, drug-impaired driving, clinical toxicology investigations, drug material testing, and much more!

Qualifications

A successful candidate will have at least a BS/BA or MS in chemistry, biology, or forensic science. Educational and professional experience in forensic toxicology, pharmacology, analytical chemistry, and forensic science are preferred. Hands-on laboratory experience and knowledge of GC-MS and LC-QQQ-MS are highly preferred. The CFSRE is looking for a candidate with passion for forensic toxicology, research, and laboratory science, who may also have interest in teaching and mentoring graduate students. Candidates with interest in publishing and making presentations in peer-reviewed settings are strongly encouraged to apply. As a non-profit entity, professionals at the CFSRE excel at grant development, preparation, submission, and reporting. Prior experience in grant processes is preferred, along with exceptional writing and analytical skills combined with a sincere willingness to pursue grant opportunities.
