DNA Analyst
Responsibilities
DNA Labs International is a private woman and family-owned DNA laboratory accredited for forensic testing in accordance with ANAB ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and FBI QAS standards with locations in South Florida and Utah. We are currently seeking DNA Analysts for our Utah location. We are celebrating our 21st year supporting law enforcement agencies processing forensic casework. We pride ourselves on having the longest continuous hands-on ownership of any private forensic DNA laboratory in the US. Founded in 2004, DNA Labs International is run by a mother-daughter team. We are passionate about our work and instill and share the company's core mission: to provide the highest quality results, friendly service, and innovative technology for law enforcement and the victims they represent. We are one of the top labs in the country, and we continue to grow and build and maintain close partnerships with government laboratories and hundreds of agencies throughout the US, Canada and Caribbean Nations.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Analyze physical evidence in the laboratory and perform serology testing as needed.
- Perform laboratory processing on evidentiary samples to generate DNA data.
- Analyze and interpret DNA profiles including complex mixture interpretation.
- Perform statistical analysis.
- Perform technical review.
- Provide expert witness testimony in a court of law.
- Assist with training, quality control, and safety programs.
- Assist with validation projects.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Perform semi-annual proficiency testing.
- Participate in continuing education such as webinars, meetings, and/or conferences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic science-related area with a minimum of 9 or more cumulative semester hours or its equivalent covering the subject areas of Biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and coursework that covers the subject area of statistics and/or population genetics.
Candidates with experience in whole genome sequencing, next-generation sequencing, and/or STRmix analysis are preferred.
Compensation
