I am delighted to announce that the seventh Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS) Forensic Lab Talks Seminar, titled Analytical Characterization of Emerging Drugs – Use of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Technologies to Address Forensic Science Challenges, is scheduled for June 20 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The seminar will be presented by Dr. Alex Krotulski, Director of Toxicology and Chemistry, Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE). Additional information on this virtual seminar, as well as the link to register, will be forthcoming in May 2024.

As announced previously, JFS has joined forces with Wiley to present a series of virtual educational seminars for forensic scientists. The series covers a range of topics important to our forensic community highlighting the most recent methods and best practices in areas such as forensic chemistry (covering spectroscopy, microscopy, and other techniques), toxicology, trace evidence, DNA analysis, and many more.

The Forensic Lab TalksSeminar Series is provided FREE OF CHARGE as a value-added member benefit.

The fifth and sixth Forensic Lab Talks seminars, titled Branching Out – The Use of FIGG in Forensic Investigations; From the Science to the Solutions, presented by Dr. Claire Glynn, and Beyond the OMG Era: Forensic Genetic Genealogy 2011 - 2023, Expectations Versus Realities, presented by Dr. Colleen Fitzpatrick, were a tremendous success with approximately 1,300 and 1,100 registrants, respectively. We were thrilled by the interest shown from the forensic community for our Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy Part I and Part II seminars. For those who participated, thank you again for contributing to their success.

We are excited about offering our seventh Forensic Lab Talksvirtual educational seminar on June 20, 2024. PLEASE SAVE THE DATE!

Thank you for your continued support of JFS and its initiatives. For questions about the seminar series, please contact JFS Managing Editor Brenda Peat at bpeat@aafs.org.
