Call for Applications Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Forensic Sciences

The Search Committee for the Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS), the official publication of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), invites applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EIC).
As a premier publication in the field, JFS seeks a visionary leader with an unwavering commitment to scientific integrity. The successful candidate will oversee the Journal's strategic direction, manage a global editorial board, and ensure the highest standards of peer review.
The JFS EIC is supported by a team of Associate Editors, a large and diversified Editorial Board, and a Managing Editor. JFS currently publishes six issues per year and receives approximately 1,200 manuscripts annually. The position receives a stipend-based honorarium.

Those interested in applying for the position of JFS EIC should submit an application that includes the following:
- Complete curriculum vitae.
- Letter of interest (500 word maximum) outlining your qualifications, your background, and your history with JFS. In addition, detail your approach to editorial leadership and how you will accommodate the time demands of the EIC position.
- A vision statement of 1000 words or less. The statement should encapsulate your vision for the Journal's content, competitive position and longer-term development, including ideas for review-type articles or issues, as well as editorial board structure and responsibilities.
- Conflict of Interest Statement. To ensure the integrity of JFS, the successful candidate must not hold concurrent editorial roles at competing publications and must disclose all potential professional conflicts of interest upon application.

Published continuously since 1956, the Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS) is the official publication of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). JFS is a premier global journal for forensic science research and is devoted to the publication of original investigations, observations, scholarly inquiries and reviews in various branches of the forensic sciences. These include anthropology, criminalistics, digital and multimedia sciences, engineering and applied sciences, jurisprudence, forensic nursing science, odontology, pathology/biology, psychiatry and behavioral science, questioned documents, and toxicology. Similar submissions dealing with forensic aspects of other sciences and the social sciences are also accepted, as are submissions dealing with scientifically sound emerging science disciplines.
