Questions most received regarding the AAFS Annual Scientific Conference
Will the 2027 conference be in-person only?
Yes, the conference is in-person only. However, a limited number of workshops and other content may be recorded for future inclusion in our AAFS Connect portal.
What does the basic registration fee include?
Attendance to Case Break Sessions, Plenary, Keynote, Academy-wide Receptions, Poster Presentations, Oral Presentations, Exhibit Hall
Do I have to register for the conference if I just plan to present and then leave?
Yes. All speakers are required to register and pay the registration fee for the conference, with the exception of non-member speakers in workshops or special sessions.
If I am unable to attend the conference, where can I apply for a refund?

What if I lose my badge?
Lost, misplaced, stolen, or forgotten badges will incur a replacement fee equal to the original purchase amount of your registration. If your badge was complimentary, the fee will be the current, on-site rate.
Can I have a guest included with my registration?
AAFS Members and Fellows may purchase a Spouse/Guest pass during the registration process. Other attendees will need to purchase a separate registration at the full price. Pricing for registration will be available soon.
How do I apply for CE credits?
You can sign up for CE credit during the registration process. Please note that there will be an associated fee. Those who opt to receive CE credit will receive an email regarding how to claim their hours online.
How is the AAFS incorporating ADA Accommodations?
Any attendee requiring ADA Accommodations should make a written request for accommodations by emailing meetings@aafs.org. Requests should detail the necessary accommodations and for which presentations and/or sessions.
What do I do if I experience/witness sexual misconduct during the annual conference?
Call the AAFS "safe person" (917-678-7197) or contact another member of the AAFS staff.
Can I just post my poster and leave?
Posters may be posted beginning at 10:00 am on the day of the presentation. The author must be present to answer any questions during the hours of 11:30 am – 1:00 am to receive presentation credit. Posters must be taken down no later than 1:30 PM.
What is the best aspect/format my PowerPoint?
The best format for the presentation slides is 16:9 aspect ratio.
Regarding the PowerPoint presentation with audio, should the PPTs be in English?
The official language of AAFS is English. The PowerPoint slides and audio should be in English.
General tips for PowerPoint presentations
Avoid using fonts that project poorly because the line width is too thin; use at least 24pt font size; avoid color combinations such as red and blue or yellow and green; limit the number of lines per slide in order to not crowd the frame; use simple graphs and illustrations with minimal captions
