Kate Spradley Named Inaugural AAFS Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award
As an Academy, we recognize that our aim is to create an environment where everyone is valued, feels like they belong, and are recognized for their contributions. To create a truly inclusive organization will require time, but we want to take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate Anthropology Section Fellow Kate Spradley as the recipient of the first AAFS Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award for her efforts to create positive change. Kate served as the former AAFS Diversity Outreach Committee Chair. Her dedication, professionalism, and insight were paramount in the leadership of this committee.
The award will be presented to Kate during the 2024 AAFS Annual Scientific Conference in Denver, CO, in February.
