Deputy State Medical Examiner - Southern Oregon
Responsibilities
Deputy State Medical Examiners provide forensic pathology services in three locations: the Portland metro area (Clackamas County), Eugene, and Central Point. The successful applicant will serve Southern Oregon, working with the Chief Medical Examiner to support outreach to counties served by the new facility and to help refine its operations.
The position includes performing autopsies, providing expert medical consultation, preparing reports for death investigations, and delivering training to law enforcement agencies, county medical examiners, district attorney's, and medicolegal death investigators.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved school of medicine with an MD or DO degree.
- Board certification or qualification for certification in anatomic or clinical/anatomic pathology from the American Board of Pathology (ABP) at time of hire.
- Board certification in forensic pathology within two years of hiring.
- Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon or the ability to obtain one at time of hire.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $305,724-$337,068 with generous annual paid time off; medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement; optional deferred compensation; and opportunities to expand technical and professional skills.
