Lecturer of Forensic Science
Responsibilities
The Department of Anthropology at Baylor University seeks a permanent full-time lecturer (non-tenure track) to teach four courses per fall/spring semesters in a thriving forensic science minor effective August 1, 2027. (January 1, 2027, start date is preferred). The ideal candidate will contribute to multiple courses in the current curriculum (see Forensic Science Minor | Baylor University Academic Catalog), serve as an advisor to the student forensic society, and mentor undergraduate students on research projects who have interests in forensic science. This appointment is a renewable 9-month full-time, benefits-eligible, teaching-focused position with a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and a 12-year promotion path to Teaching Professor for highly successful candidates.
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
- A completed Master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours of course work in Forensic Science or an appropriate related field is required by start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Forensic Science or appropriate related field
- Teaching experience at the university level in forensic science or related field(s)
- Record of mentoring undergraduate students in research
- Experience working in crime scene investigations
- Ability / willingness to connect with professional Forensic Science organizations
