2026-27 Nominating Committee Report

In accordance with AAFS Bylaws, the Nominating Committee shall submit its initial report to the AAFS Secretary by June 15, which shall be provided to the membership by August 1.

2026 Nominating Committee's Report – Nominees for 2027-28 AAFS Officers:

President: Sarah Kerrigan, PhD (Toxicology)

President-Elect: Marcus Rogers, PhD (Digital & Multimedia Sciences)

Vice President: Linton Mohammed, PhD (Questioned Documents)

Treasurer: Matthew Wood, PhD (Criminalistics)

Secretary: Claire Shepard, MS (General)

Additional nominations for any of the elected offices may be made by submitting a petition to the Nominating Committee Chair no later than September 1. Nomination petitions should state the name of the nominee, the office sought, confirmation that the candidate is a Fellow in good standing, and the signatures and printed names of 50 Fellows and full Members. 

The second report of the Nominating Committee listing all the nominees for election to each office shall be provided to the membership by November 1 and shall include a biography and photograph of each candidate.

Nominations for any elective office may be made from the floor during the Academy's Annual Business Meeting, February 17, 2027, in Orlando, FL.

The Nominating Committee is composed of three immediate past presidents:  Joanna Collins (Chair), Christopher Thompson, and C. Ken Williams, and the immediate past section chairs:  Teresa Wilson (Anthropology), Agnes Winokur (Criminalistics), Kathryn Seigfried-Spellar (Digital & Multimedia Sciences), Carole Chaski (Engineering & Applied Sciences), Amy Carney (Forensic Nursing Science), Brian Janysek (General), Gary McDonald (Jurisprudence), Denise Murmann (Odontology), Lavinia Iancu (Pathology/Biology), Sebastien Prat (Psychiatry & Behavioral Science), James Green (Questioned Documents), and Dayong Lee (Toxicology).
