Dear Forensic Science Professional,

You have the opportunity to be a part of scientific research! Michigan State University's School of Criminal Justice and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Ad Hoc Vicarious Trauma Committee are conducting a study to assess the impact of life stressors on the Forensic Science Community. Aggregated results from this study will be presented at the Special Session, Beyond the Evidence: Supporting Mental Health and Resilience in Forensic Science, at the 79th AAFS Annual Scientific Conference.

The study involves a short, anonymous survey that may be completed online at your convenience. We will not be collecting any identifiable information (e.g., your name). Instead, your responses to the survey will be coded with a random "ID number." The survey will remain open until December 2026.

If you currently work in the forensic sciences, are over the age of 18 years, and interested in participating in this anonymous survey, please visit the following website to learn more about the survey and how to participate.

In addition, you may contact Dr. Kathryn Seigfried-Spellar at Michigan State University's School of Criminal Justice via email at drkate@msu.edu or at (517) 432-4236 for more information.

Thank you for your help with this research!
