International Conference Call for Abstracts
The International Conference on Fostering the Next Generation of Forensic Researchers and Professionals, organized by ZiForKrim (EHU), will take place October 20-21, 2026, at the Bizkaia Aretoa Conference Center, University of the Basque Country, in Bilbao. ZiForKrim is an Academic Hub: a collaborative initiative promoted by the Faculty of Science and Technology of the UPV/EHU, the Basque Academy of Police and Emergencies, and the Scientific Police Unit of the Ertzaintza.
Abstract submissions are currently being accepted for this event that aims to create an international forum for discussion and collaboration in the field of criminalistic and forensic sciences, with a special focus on the education, training, and professional development of future forensic researchers and practitioners.
Contributions related to the following topics are welcome:
- Criminalistic sciences and forensic methodologies
- Forensic science education and professional training
- Digital forensics and technological innovation
- Forensic evidence, scientific standards, and quality assurance
- Crime scene investigation and forensic technologies
- Cooperation between universities, forensic laboratories, and institutions
- Early-career researcher initiatives and doctoral training
Abstract submission deadline: July 15, 2026
Notification of acceptance: July 25, 2026
Conference dates: October 20-21, 2026
Venue: Bizkaia Aretoa, Bilbao
Abstracts should be written in English and may be submitted for oral presentation or poster presentation. The working languages of the conference will be Spanish and English, with simultaneous interpretation available throughout the event.
