OVC SANE Guide Survey Request
Texas A&M University Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing was selected by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) to update the OVC Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Development and Operation Guide. You are invited to participate in this study because we wish to discern if the current OVC SANE guide is meeting the needs of forensic health care and other professionals via a Stop/Start/Stay stakeholder survey.
This survey was produced by Texas A&M University, College of Nursing under Grant #15POVC-25-GK-00734-NONF, awarded by the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. The opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this survey are those of the contributors and do not necessarily represent the official position or policies of the U.S. Department of Justice.
Who can participate?
- Adults who are at least 18 years of age
- Individuals who utilize the OVC SANE Guide, including:
- Forensic nurses, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SAFEs)
- Physicians
- Law enforcement
- Attorneys
- Crime laboratory professionals, including forensic analysts
- Advocacy (sexual assault, human trafficking, victim advocate)
- Counselors
- Business professionals
- Non-governmental organization (NGO) staff
- Social services professionals
What will I do?
- Complete an online survey.
- The survey will take about 5-20 minutes to complete, depending on which sections you choose to provide feedback and the depth of responses you choose to provide.
