The 2027 AAFS Program Committee welcomes submissions of quality, relevance, and interest to the forensic science community centering on the ideals behind this year's theme, "Around the World and Beyond."

This theme explores how forensic principles transcend geography, disciplines, and even terrestrial environments. Presentations may examine international drug trends; human trafficking investigations; mass disaster victim identifications; expert testimony global perspectives; AI and machine learning; space forensics; space laws; digital evidence in the next decade; or ethics and legal challenges of emerging technologies. This list is not exhaustive! Be creative! We are seeking representation from each section of the Academy to contribute presentations that highlight disciplinary perspectives while fostering dialog across forensic specialties.

The IDS is a half-day session, usually hosted on Tuesday afternoon. Please email Laura Labay (Laura.Labay@nmslabs.com) and Lynn Garcia (Lynn.Garcia@fsc.texas.gov) with the proposed title and focus of your presentations by the end of July.
