Ready to Advance Your AAFS Membership?

As a valued AAFS member, you may be eligible to advance to the next level of membership. Associate Members and Members who meet the eligibility requirements for a higher membership status are encouraged to explore the opportunity to apply for promotion.

Advancing your membership status provides additional opportunities to engage with and contribute to the Academy, including:

• Members and Fellows have voting privileges and the opportunity to help shape AAFS bylaws, policies, and organizational decisions.
• Fellows are eligible to serve as Section Officers and on the AAFS Board of Directors.
• Fellow status is required for service on many AAFS committees, providing opportunities to share your expertise, bring forward new ideas, and help advance the Academy's mission.

Review Promotion Requirements

To determine whether you are eligible for promotion:

1. Visit the AAFS membership requirements page: https://www.aafs.org/membership-requirements.
2. Select the membership status you would like to pursue:
   1. If you are currently an Associate Member, select Member.
   2. If you are currently a Member, select Fellow.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select your section to review the applicable requirements.

Eligible members may submit a promotion application online by logging in to their AAFS account portal.
