AAFS Anthropology Section Endowment Campaign: Only $3,000 to Go!

Help us reach our $30,000 goal by December 1, 2026!

We are SO close! Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, the AAFS Anthropology Section has raised $27,000 toward our $30,000 endowment goal — that's 90% of the way there! We need just $3,000 more to cross the finish line.

Why is this so important? Because once we reach our goal, we can finally stop asking for annual donations to support our student awards!

The interest generated by our $30,000 endowment will provide an ongoing source of funding for the AAFS Anthropology Section Student Awards and select Section Awards. Rather than relying on annual fundraising efforts to recognize and support our outstanding students, we will be able to use the endowment's earnings to sustain these awards for years to come.

Reaching this milestone will allow us to focus our future fundraising efforts primarily on supporting the annual Anthropology Section reception, particularly as food and event costs continue to rise.

In other words, one final fundraising push now means we can stop asking for student award donations year after year!

How You Can Help

Please consider making a contribution of any amount to help us raise the final $3,000 before December 1, 2026. Every donation brings us closer to creating a lasting source of support for future generations of forensic anthropologists.

To donate:

  1. Visit https://www.aafs.org/ways-give.
  2. Scroll down to AAFS Section Donations and click "Donate to a Section."
  3. Select "Anthropology" as the section receiving your contribution.
  4. Under "Add a Dedication," enter "Endowment" to designate your contribution toward our $30,000 goal.

Let's come together as a Section and finish what we've started. Your generosity today will help us recognize student achievements, encourage the next generation of forensic anthropologists, and create a lasting legacy for our discipline.

A small gift today creates a lasting legacy for tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support of the AAFS Anthropology Section!
