The AAFS Young Forensic Scientists Forum (YFSF) Special Session Co-Chairs Claire Cartozzo and Morghan Hogg are seeking speakers to contribute to the YFSF Special Session at the 78th AAFS Annual Scientific Conference in New Orleans, LA. The theme for the YFSF Special Session is "Unmasking the Voodoo: Empowering the Next Generation of Truth-Seekers."

The 2026 YFSF theme was chosen to showcase the various career paths young forensic scientists can choose in order to promote justice for all. A multidisciplinary approach only works to advance the field to achieve this mission.

The YFSF Special Session Committee aims to offer presentations that highlight the following:

  • Forensic science careers can vary from governmental, industrial, academic settings, and beyond, all of which play a vital role in promoting justice for all
  • Mentorship for young forensic scientists as they enter the workforce
  • Professional development activities that build skills for young forensic scientists

The committee is seeking speakers to give 20-minute presentations that reflect the goals listed above.

If you are interested in presenting during the YFSF Special Session, please contact Claire Cartozzo (cartozzocm@gmail.com) or Emily Rue (emilyrue1@gmail.com) by July 18, 2025.
