Responsibilities

About the position

Join our experienced medicolegal team serving an eight-county population of over 512,000 residents.
When fully staffed, work alongside two board-certified forensic pathologists.
The center performs approximately 700 forensic autopsies a year, including approximately 30 homicide cases per year.
The successful candidate will be appointed to a non-tenure clinical track faculty position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Pathology at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine. Appointment at a higher faculty rank (with additional compensation) may be considered based on work experience and academic credentials.
Promote process/quality improvement initiatives within the center.
Opportunities for compensated time dedicated to undergraduate and graduate medical education, or research may be available, if interested.

Complete Support Staff – five ABMDI certified medicolegal death investigators to respond to scenes, four autopsy technicians, and full administrative support staff
Histology services provided by ETSU Pathology
Toxicology testing is provided by NMS Labs

Compensation

Salary: $270,000
*Board-certified at the assistant professor level
