Psychology Faculty - Forensic Psychology, Assistant or Associate Professor

Responsibilities

The Department of Psychology at Cedar Crest College invites candidates to apply for a full-time, residential, tenure-track position with a specialization in Forensic Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Psychology (depending upon qualifications). The position will begin in August, 2026.  The new faculty member will work collaboratively with colleagues in Psychology, as well as from our Criminal Justice, Crime Science, and Forensic Science programs for department and college-wide initiatives.   

Position Responsibilities 
The full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position entails 24 credits of teaching per academic year (traditionally, four 3-credit courses per semester); availability to teach online and residential day or evening courses as assigned may be needed, along with the potential for summer sections, if desired. Preference given to candidates who can teach the existing courses PSY 310: Forensic Psychology and PSY 311: Criminal Behavior and Profiling, develop and teach additional courses related to their specialization, as well as courses in research methods and statistics, and involve undergraduate students in scholarship. The new faculty member is expected to be an active presence on campus: serving on department and College-wide committees, assisting with departmental clubs and honor societies, advising, and supporting our diverse student population more generally. 

Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or expect to obtain their degree prior to the 2026-27 academic year.
  • Candidates should provide evidence of successful teaching experience and a commitment to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship.
  • Permission to work in the United States is required.
