Call for Nominations for Milton Helpern Award and Award for Achievement in the Forensic Life Sciences
Nominations for the Milton Helpern Award and for the Award for Achievement in the Forensic Life Sciences are currently being accepted through November 1, 2026.
The Milton Helpern Award recognizes lifetime achievement and dedication to the mission of forensic pathology with a focus in the areas of leadership, service, and teaching. The nominee must be a Forensic Pathologist, Fellow (or Retired Fellow) of the Pathology/Biology Section, living or deceased, who demonstrated an active role in the AAFS by presentations and/or committee membership. Candidate selection will be based on a vote of the Pathology/Biology Section Awards Committee.
The Award for Achievement in the Forensic Life Sciences recognizes high achievement and exemplifies excellence in the practice, advancement, and teaching of forensic applications of the life sciences (biology generally or in any area of biology specialization such as botany, entomology, zoology, etc.). Candidates shall be a non-pathologist (PhD) Fellow (or Retired Fellow) of the Pathology/ Biology Section.
