Important Opportunities to Remind You About
First, the 2025 Spring Membership Application is open right now. However, it is only for non-member applicants. If you wish to apply for promotion to another membership level, you need to wait until August. If you are not a member at any level yet, you may apply now. Review the criteria required and apply for the level that fits your qualifications. However, be aware that the highest status a non-member can apply for is Associate Member. To review the ccriteria, click here: Membership in the Forensic Odontology Section | American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
The next reminder is the deadline for submission for an abstract for presentations and posters. It is a firm, non-negotiable August 1, 2025. That is less than two months away. The submission of the abstract does not mean that your research or presentation is completed. The abstract is the overview of what the presentation or poster is about. In addition, after your abstract is reviewed, you will be given an opportunity to edit your abstract.
Concerning the topics for the abstracts:
Are we looking for research projects? Yes!
Are we looking for interesting cases? Yes!
Are we looking for educational or historical information? Yes!
Are we looking for interdisciplinary presentations from other sections? Yes!
We will gladly fill two days with presentations, but we must receive enough abstracts to do so. Please consider contributing to support and enrich the AAFS 2026 Forensic Science Annual Conference. For more information, click here: Abstract Submission | American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
