Survey Request: Forensic Pathology Fellowship and Starting a Career

Eligibility: This survey is focused on those who have recently (5 years or less) completed forensic pathology fellowship training, to evaluate their transition from training to practice. As such, neither student nor trainee distribution is sought. This survey is appropriate for Associate Members, Members, and Fellows in the Path/Bio section of AAFS who hold medical degrees.

Dr. Nicole Jackson (AAFS Path/Bio member, University of Washington), Dr. Kathryn Scherpelz (University of Washington), and Dr. Nicolas Kostelecky (Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine) are requesting recent graduates of forensic pathology fellowship programs to complete a short, anonymous survey on their transition from training to practice. AAFS Associate Members, Members, and Fellows are the target audience.

Survey results will be published in order to provide additional information on challenges in this transition. This research was reviewed by the UW Institutional Review Board and determined to be exempt.

This anonymous survey will take < 15 minutes to complete. The survey can be accessed via the link below (control + click) and will be open through the end of October 2026.
